Gocompare car insurance proves most popular with UK motorists

I run a little website called Car Insurance UK Supermarket that lists UK car insurance companies, with a little information about each of them, to help people decide which insurance to buy. I have recently added a link to the gocompare site and so far no-one is choosing anything else. Good for gocompare, less good for me for those that know about commissions. It does prove one thing, though, which is that price comparison sites are popular and people are much more influenced by price than the exact nature of the cover they are buying. Many brand-name insurers spend a fortune on pointing out special features of their policies in their advertising campaigns. It is clear that this investment is largely wasted if they do not compete on price.

UK Casino Games and Betting Online - a review

I have recently been working on a project that required me to research online betting and gaming providers in the UK.

For those of you interested in such things as betting online (e.g. on horses or football), playing poker, blackjack and myriad casino and other online games, here's my summarised review.

For online betting, Coral seems to be the biggest and most imformative and useful service to easily bet online and check the latest odds and race fixtures.

Totesport provides an introductory free £25-worth of betting when you sign up with them and they also provide pools in addition to single bets.

Coral and Totesport also provide a large range of casino and instant win games, while 32Red has attracted awards for its online casino games service. Coral has a popular monopoly game too.

If you want to find out more about these and other online bet and gambling services, playgamble.co.uk has more.

If you haven't visited any of the online betting and game-play sites, take a look, if only out of curiosity. They make the lottery seem very dull by comparison!

Want to make a charity donation online?

If, like me, you always intend to give more to charity but never seem to get around to deciding which charity to give to, you may find a new website, charitydonor.co.uk, of interest. The site was established just last month, is not heavy-sell, and provides useful information about the work of leading charities along with links to their websites.

Many well-known charities providing disaster relief, child support and sponsorship, cancer research funding, and animal welfare help are summarised with practical advice about how to make a charitable donation.

The site is asking for support from web space owners to post links to it - a cost-free way to support charity if you have a blog or other web space.

One thing they report, for example, is that the Red Cross is involved in a huge project across 15 African countries aimed at helping over 2 million people to develop sustainable food projects.

Childline, a charity that provides telephone support to children in distress, is in dire need of additional funding as at present they are not able to answer around half of the calls they get from children in need.

If you want to visit their website, follow this link:
